Appraisal Team Expands

Land appraisals have continued to grow in demand in recent years. The licensing and education required to appraise land are the highest level available – not just anyone can do it. It takes years of training and rigorous education, and a specialized licensure called the State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license (hereafter Certified General).

With fewer and fewer Certified Generals throughout the state, it has become increasingly challenging to meet the appraisal demands of landowners, lenders and estate attorneys. With that in mind, we recently added a third Certified General to our team, Josh Zipprich. Josh joins Allan Worrell and Cynthia Staake who are also Certified Generals with Worrell Land Services.

Many in the agricultural communities we serve have likely heard of Josh over the years, as he has been appraising land in the area for the last decade. Most recently, Josh worked for the Farm Credit Jerseyville office. Prior to that, Josh served as County Executive Director for the USDA Farm Service Agency for nearly a dozen years. Josh is also a farmer in Greene, Jersey and Calhoun Counties. He holds a BS in Technical Systems Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Cynthia Staake earned her Certified General license in January 2023 marking the culmination of over two grueling years of extensive education and testing, and training directly under Allan Worrell. She has blown us and clients away with how quickly she has developed this expertise. Her deeply analytical mind is exceptionally suited for success as an appraiser. Cynthia graduated summa cum laude from Illinois College with a BA in Agribusiness Management and a minor in Economics.
