Allan Worrell was selected as one of the 2023 Torch of Leadership winners from the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation. The purpose of the IALF Torch of Leadership Award is to recognize alumni or friends of the Foundation and leadership program who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills through personal commitment and service to agriculture in their occupation, community, government or education. These contributions can be made at a local, state, national or international level.

It’s fair to say Allan has made, and continues to make, quite the impact within agriculture throughout his career. Congratulations, Allan, on this well-deserved honor!

A little background: Allan is a graduate of the 1988 Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation Program (the third class ever). The IALP is a 19-month program that takes a holistic and immersive approach to addressing the most critical and urgent food security and sustainability issues through a series of seminars featuring leading practitioners in business, education, and government. Participants travel abroad during the program, as well, to learn about unique agricultural challenges faced in other parts of the world. When Allan was in the program, he traveled to Spain, Morocco and Hungary.
